You should be protecting from the back monster, so in this screenshot you will be praying magic and attacking the mage. From the middle square, attack whichever monster is at the BACK. You must start off standing in the middle square of the safespot, 1 square east of where Paul is standing (note this is now the south pillar not the north, but it works in the same way on either pillar). It is possible to offtick both of these monsters and prayer flick between the 2 to guarantee 0 damage taken. MAGE/RANGE LINED UP BEHIND PILLAR – You will sometimes find yourself in this scenario where you find you appear to have no choice but to take some damage from the ranger. You can’t do it on the east or north side of the pillar because it can get round the corner. This also works on the south side of the north pillar if the melee is east (hope that makes sense). SAFESPOTTED MELEE 2 - You can also safespot the melee from the north/south by standing on the middle square. The melees have low hp, so you should be able to kill them before they teleport out of the safespot. These squares are either one square north on the west side, or 3 squares north on the east side. Instead, you must stand on one of the red squares shown, depending on which side it is coming from. SAFESPOTTING MELEE - If the melee is coming at you from a diagonal, you can’t safespot it on the corner like you can in the paragraph above. You could also step into the middle safespot square to attack them but this will cause them to take 1 more step north, thus preventing you from re-safespotting them on the corner. If you want to attack it, it’s best to step north from the square shown and hit it from that square, because if you want to re-safespot it you can just step back south. When one of these is walking towards you from a diagonal, it can look like they will hit you any second, but if you make sure you’re standing on one of the corners highlighted like shown they get trapped. SAFESPOTTIG MAGE/RANGE/BLOB - A useful one that I learned from watching Turnii, you can block the mage/range/blobs on the corners like this. You want to try and avoid being hit by the bats because they drain your energy. So if you stand on the red square, you can attack it but it can’t reach you. SAFESPOTTING BATS - Another basic one, but when a bat is safe spotted to the south, if you step out the bat will still be trapped on the corner on the blue square (not sure why) but it can only attack from a range of 4 squares. When you try to barrage the nibbler from here, you will attack from where you are standing and remain safe spotted from monsters to the south. To avoid getting dragged out, you should stand as far north as you can go, on the red square. If you were to try and barrage it from where Turnii is standing in the screenshot, you would get dragged out to the west and get hit by any monster safe spotted to the south. If you splash your initial barrage on a nibbler and it gets to the north pillar, it will be standing in one of the blue squares shown. SAFESPOTTING TO ATTACK NIBBLERS - The first trick is to do with attacking nibblers from a safe spot. The south pillar works the same way but it is flipped like a mirror image – different corners of the pillar work in different ways. Now, onto various safespots for monsters using the north pillar. It’s not a massive point, but I’ve found that this seems to be the best place to stand. The reason I stand here is to allow me to easily see if anything spawns east of the pillar which I can block by going west, whilst minimising damage taken from anything that spawns south which will be automatically blocked. START OF WAVE - This is where I stood at the start of every wave with barrage ready to freeze the healers. Sorry for ripping pictures from a couple of streams, I’m at work at the moment and can’t login to take screenshots of my own. In the screenshots provided, the red square is where you should be standing, and the blue square is where the monster will be. So I just got my infernal cape a couple of days ago and thought I would share a few safespots which I picked up through trial and error/watching various streams and videos (namely Woox and Turnii).
